Karen Elizabeth Thompson, 82, died peacefully on July 15, 2025 in Princeton Il.
Karen was born August 12, 1942 to Mary Elizabeth Kasbeer and Virgil (Skip) Kasbeer.
Karen’s career in the food and beverage business started by working for her father at the “Kasbar”. She spent most of her life in Princeton but moved to Bradenton Florida for a time. Her favorite place to be was on Anna Marie Island with her toes in the sand.
Karen is survived by her daughter Tracy (Joe) Hannon, Tiskilwa. Her son Tom (Denise) Woolley, Florissant, Colorado. Her grandson Tony (Sara) Woolley. Granddaughter Kate (Joey) Horn & Hudson.
Her sister Trisha Conner, her children: Christopher (Alaina) Conner, Devin (Tricia) Conner and Tim (Nicole) Conner. Along with 6 very special great nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, a son Terry John Woolley and her brother Terry Kasbeer.
Karen will be fondly remembered for her love of preparing a good meal and a party for every occasion. And she was always on the lookout for another treasure for her collections.
The family would like to thank the staff of Liberty Village of Princeton and the hospice nurses of In-Home Care Connection for their care.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Cremation Rites have been accorded.
In lieu of flowers Karen’s request for memorials to Friends of Strays in Princeton.

Sorry to hear this- she always greeted me with a smile & hug and then catch up on relatives.
Tom, Tracy, Trisha and family…my condolences. Karen had a heart of gold, and I was blessed to have spent time with her in Bradenton and in Princeton throughout the years.
I met her when I was 5 going to Lincoln School and playing with her younger step sister Trisha at their mother Mary’s apartment building on Church Street. Karen was going “ steady” with 3 different boys from 3 different high school. Not PHS!
I was and continue to be impressed! We joked about it a lot!
