Bradley “Brad” David Balensiefen, 66, of Tiskilwa, IL passed away on Monday, July 14, 2025 at home surrounded by loved ones.

Brad was born on February 23, 1959 in Spring Valley, IL the son of Henry and Marilyn (Long) Balensiefen. Brad was a Bradford High School graduate class of 1977 and a member of Bradford FFA. He married Sherry Cade on July 4, 2015 at their home in Tiskilwa. Brad was a lifelong farmer in rural Tiskilwa until his passing. He enjoyed snowmobiling and riding 4 wheelers when he was younger. Brad cherished his family, friends and spending time with his dogs.

He is survived by his wife, Sherry Balensiefen; two siblings, Stanley (Debbie) Balensiefen and Pat (Alan) Read all of Tiskilwa; eight nieces and nephews, Bryan Read, Jenna Scanland, Rob Balensiefen, Heather Sampson, Lindy Eden, Katie Frank, Megan Couch and Carli McIntyre.

Brad was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Roger Balensiefen.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm on Friday, July 18, 2025 at Grant-Johnson Funeral Home in Bradford, IL. Graveside services will immediately follow at Calvary Cemetery in Henry, IL with Randy Cade officiating.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to Brad’s family in his memory.

  1. I am sorry to hear about Bradley’s passing. My friends and I used to play pool and foose ball with him up at Dorgans Pool Hall in Bradford back in the early 80’s. May he rest in peace.
