Clarence Otis Hodges, 87, of Toulon, IL passed away on Monday, April 7, 2025 at OSF St. Anthony in Rockford, IL.
Clarence was born on May 3, 1937 in rural Tiskilwa, IL the son of Edwin and Velma (McLane) Hodges. He graduated from Princeville High School in 1955 and then began his lifelong career as a farmer in Stark and Henry Counties. Clarence married Raylene Johnson on October 4, 1957 at Peoria Methodist Church in Peoria, IL. She preceded him in death on September 27, 2018. Outside of farming Clarence enjoyed watching the Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears.
He is survived by his two children, Brenda (Peter Broughton) Hodges of DeKalb and Brent Hodges of Toulon; brother, John Hodges of Wyoming, IL; brother-in-law, James Darnell of Onalaska, WI and sister-in-law, Wynne (Gary) Swedberg of Mt. Dora, FL; along with many beloved nieces and nephews.
Clarence was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Helen (Charles) Barton and Alma Darnell, and one sister-in-law, Sharon Hodges.
Visitation will be held from 10:00am-11:00am on Monday, April 14, 2025 at Grant-Johnson Funeral Home in Bradford, IL. Graveside services will immediately follow at Bradford Cemetery in Bradford, IL with Pastor Dan Wright officiating.
Memorials may be directed to American Heart Association.

Wynne and I have always felt warm and welcome while in town visiting Clarence, Raylene, Brenda and Brent. We will always miss them and hold both of them in our hearts.
