David Benedict McKean

David B. McKean, 70, of Peoria, passed away on Monday, November 6, 2023, at his home, accompanied by his loving family.

David was born on August 27, 1953, in Peoria, the son of Daniel and Barbara (McDowell) McKean. He married Marcella Lawson on June 14, 2014 in Peoria. David in his life was a football running back, a record setting half-miler, farmer, dairyman and garage door installer, faithful and competent to each in turn. His heart was always on the farm.

David is survived by his wife, Marcella McKean of Peoria; three children, David J. (Jessica) McKean of Peoria, Jesse (Meggan) McKean of Dunlap and Maggie McKean of San Diego, CA; two step-children, Tiffany Lawson of Peoria, William Lawson of Kewanee; five grandchildren, Matilda, Tessa, Zuri, J’veon and Kyré; five siblings, Elizabeth (John) Jones of Ashland, IL, Daniel J. (Kathy) McKean of Fenton, MO, Peter (Mary) McKean of Bradford, IL, Mary (Jeff) Ewing of Albert Lea, MN and Martha (Phil) Galow of Oswego, IL.

He was preceded in death by his parents and step-son, Melvin Lawson.

Memorial visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until time of remembrance service at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 18^th at the Grant-Johnson Funeral Home, 217 E. Main St. Bradford, IL., with a luncheon at the Bradford Fire Dept. Community Room, following inurnment on the family farm.
