Richard C. Slock, 97 of Manlius passed away September 5, 2022 at Illinois Veterans Home, LaSalle.
He was born November 22, 1924 to Joseph & Frebronia (Van Wynsburg) Slock. Richard married Chloe Martin May 1, 1950, in Billings, MT. She passed away June 1987. He got remarried to Marzetta Kerber July 20, 1996 in Manlius, IL. She passed away January 2010.
Survivors are two sons; Joe (Julie) Slock of Walnut, IL; Tom (Joy) Slock of New Bedford, IL; step-children; Linda (Max) Halberg of Manlius, IL; Allan (Joan) Kerber of Manlius, IL also surviving numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces & nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two wives, two sisters; Mary & Elaine; and brother Frank.
Richard graduated from Sheffield High School in 1943. Served in the Navy during WWII as a Radio operator 2nd class. He was a lifetime farmer in Sheffield. Member of VFW, American Legion & member of Wyaton Golf Course.
Services will be private at Evergreen Memorial Gardens, Kewanee, IL with military rites accorded by Kewanee Veterans Council.
