Herbert Allen Royce

H. Allen Royce, 83, of Buda died at 1:57 a.m. Wednesday, June 15, 2011, at Kewanee Hospital in Kewanee. Born April 29, 1928, in Altona to Herbert Charles and Marjorie (Brew) Royce, he married Helen L. Farrar Sept. 12, 1948, in Buda. She survives. He was the owner and operator of Royce Trucking in Buda for 47 years. He was a member of Masonic Lodge Ames 142 A.F.&A.M. in Sheffield and the Midwest Truckers Association. Also surviving are two daughters, Rosemary (John) Schullery of Micro, N.C., and Diane Tinsley of Savannah, Ga.; two sons, Larry (Donelle) Royce of Council Bluffs, Iowa, and David Royce of Neponset; eight grandchildren, Tom Royce of Omaha, Neb., Kelli (Tyler) Harkness of Garden City, Kan., Kyle Schullery of Raleigh, N.C., Brett Schullery of Charlotte, N.C., Rachel and Hanna Tinsley of Savannah, Ga., Leah Garcia of Clinton, Iowa, and Elvis Royce of Neponset; and one great-granddaughter, Arianna Harkness of Garden City, Kan. He was preceded in death by his parents; one grandson, Patrick Schullery; and one brother, Robert Eugene Royce. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Hopeland Cemetery, Buda. Burial will be in Hopeland Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the Grant-Johnson Funeral Home, Princeton.
