Wayne Ronald Rasmussen, 84, of Manlius passed away on Saturday, September 21, 2024 at Allure of Walnut in Walnut, IL.

Wayne was born on July 3, 1940 in Kewanee, IL the son of Howard and Sylvia (Johnson) Rasmussen. He married Gloria Winkler on August 30, 1964. She preceded him in death on November 28, 2016. Wayne was a lifelong farmer in Manlius and surrounding areas. He served in the United States Airforce from 1963-1969. Wayne was also a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church and the Princeton Farm Bureau. Most of all he cherished spending time with his family.

Survivors include his two children, Wendy Michlig of Wyanet and Dan (Lynn) Rasmussen of Sheffield; two grandchildren, Amanda (Chris) Hulscher and Joey Michlig; one grandson-in-law, Adam Bishop; six great- grandchildren, Alex Hulscher, Eva Hulscher, Bella Hulscher, Tyler Michlig, Abby Michlig and Teddy Bishop; two brothers; his twin brother, Glenn Rasmussen of Manlius and Dean Rasmussen of New Bedford; along with several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, infant son, David Rasmussen, one granddaughter, Amber Bishop and brother, Jerry Rasmussen.

Visitation will be held from 4:00pm-7:00pm on Thursday, September 26, 2024 at Grant-Johnson Funeral Home in Princeton, IL. Visitation will also be held from 9:30am until time of funeral service at 10:30am on Friday, September 27, 2024 at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Manlius with Lori Whalen, officiating. Burial will immediately follow at Manlius Cemetery with Military Honors.

Memorials may be directed to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
