Robert "Bob" L. Erickson, 97

Robert “Bob” L. Erickson, 97, of Princeton passed away on Saturday, September 14, 2024 at Liberty Village in Princeton.

Bob was born on August 29, 1927 in Ohio, IL the son of John and Tillie (Miller) Erickson. He was a lifetime farmer in Princeton and surrounding area prior to his retirement in March of 2009. Bob served in the United State Army during WWII.  He was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church in Manlius. Bob also was a past member of the Bureau Valley Antique Club of Ohio. Bob owned and operated Erickson Pony Wagon Rides for 40 years, participating in many festivals and petting zoos throughout his lifetime. Bob and his brother Art enjoyed sitting at the train depot in Princeton watching the trains come and go. Bob enjoyed collecting many things during his life.   

He is survived by 20 nieces and nephews and numerous great nieces and nephews.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, John and Tillie; all of his siblings and their spouses, Russell (Thelma) Erickson, Margaret (Richard) Schaill, Alice (Charlie Bob) Morris, Jack (Betty) Erickson, Art Erickson, Minnie (Gordon) Shipp, Helen (Gary) Vaughn, Martha (Dick) Hoffman and Elsie (Bob) Jackson; along with 2 nieces, 2 nephews, and his beloved dog, Rascal.

Visitation will be held from 10:00am until time of funeral service at 11:00am on Saturday, September 21, 2024 at Grant-Johnson Funeral Home in Princeton with his nephew, John Erickson, officiating. Burial will immediately follow at Elm Lawn Memorial Park in Princeton with Military Honors.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to AJ’s Fitness Center and Wellness Program at Liberty Village in Princeton.
