Orval “Ray ”Evans, 84, of Bradford, IL passed away on Monday, August 12, 2024 at his home surrounded by loved ones.
Ray was born on March 18, 1940 in Anchor, IL the son of Floyd and Glenda (Pittsenbarger) Evans. He was raised by his beloved grandparents Glen and Addie Pittsenbarger. Ray married the love of his life and high school sweetheart, Marilyn Punke on July 3, 1960 at El Paso Lutheran Church in El Paso, IL. He worked as an Electrician at Caterpillar in Peoria for 31 years prior to his retirement in 1992. Ray loved fishing, woodworking, gardening and traveling, but most of all he cherished spending time with his family and beloved dog, Opie.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Marilyn Evans; two children, Scott (Judy) Evans and Lori (John) Nelson; adopted daughter, Jacqui Grant all of Bradford, IL; two granddaughters, Sara and Ashley Nelson; two great grandchildren, Ryker and Addisyn.
Ray was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
Cremation Rites have been accorded. A private celebration of life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
