Martin "Marty" Eugene Gradert, 55 of Buda passed away in Northern Wisconsin, on February 27, 2023, while on a snowmobile trip with friends.
Marty was born in Kewanee on August 18, 1967, to parents, Dean and Doreen (Fox) Gradert.
He is survived by his parents, Dean (Sandy) Gradert of Buda and Doreen Gradert, Wyanet, his brother, Mark in Ottawa and his nephew, Joshua. Also survived by his two great-nephews and 2 great nieces and his 2 step brothers, Chad and Brandon Powell. He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Carey and Sarah Fox, and his paternal grandparents, Lester and Rachel Gradert.
Marty graduated from Buda-Western High School and worked at Springfield Armory in Geneseo, IL. He loved the great outdoors and had a zest for life. He loved building things, and he enjoyed snowmobiling, riding his motorcycle, racing at the Bureau County Speedway, hunting and fishing. Marty loved smoking any kind of meat and cooking for family and friends. Marty had a loyal companion, Dexter, his beagle.
There will be funeral for Marty at 6:00pm on Friday, March 3, 2023 at Bunker Hill Church in Buda, IL. Visitation will be from 3 - 6:00pm at the church. Cremation rites will be accorded, after services. Memorials can be directed to the family of Martin Gradert.
